The "Rejuvenating Politics" initiative was launched in 2014 by the Council of Europe to promote the engagement of young people in public life and the decision-making process at local and regional level.
The "Youth Delegate" project is part of this initiative. It offers young people from the 46 member states of the Council of Europe the unique opportunity to sit in a European assembly alongside local and regional elected representatives without voting rights. They can contribute their voice, become part of a diverse group of young activists, build a network, and influence debates from the perspective of youth.
Each of the 46 member state delegations welcomes a youth delegate for a term of one calendar year. These young people are between 18 and 30 years old and come from various areas: youth activists, youth workers, students, young politicians, and more. They are selected through an online application process and represent a balanced group in terms of culture, age, and experience. In addition to the "Youth delegate" a substitute delegate is always elected from each member state.

Congress members about the topics on the agenda.
